Karen started working at UBBC in June 2008 after serving on the Board of Christian Education. Karen grew up in the Poconos and moved to State College in 1986 to teach children with special needs in the public school system. She enjoys spending time with her husband Paul and children Caitlin and Ben. She also enjoys cooking, reading, working out at the Y, and visiting with friends.
Karen has a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Mansfield University and a Master’s in Education, Curriculum and Instruction from Lock Haven University. Prior to working at UBBC she taught for over 18 years in various public schools. Working at UBBC has given her an opportunity to blend her faith and teaching skills in a meaningful way.
