Why I Believe in Community, Romans 12: 4-5
Neill Johnson, Guest Preacher
No one is an island, especially in spiritual matters. Our questions are so large and ethical decisions so complex, that we really need others to hold us in check and help us discern not only what is right for us in the moment, but possibly also what is most likely to bless the community and those who carry our banners forward into the future. When our life lessons are shared and brought to bear upon current matters, we are activating our collective wisdom and moving the community ever closer to a Truth we will not likely attain in this life, but that we must never stop trying to approximate in our lived experience. Let us do our discerning with both humility and acknowledged gratitude to the whole body of believers, without whom we could never hold even our own truths!
